PROJECT 5-CULTRURAL HUB
This cultural hub blends tradi-
tional style with Deconstructivist
school as the angle used in the
addition is sharp and creates an
edgy feeling to the whole project.
The use of the vertical windows
were complementary to the sur-
roundings. was used as a link
to join the complex. It is used to
make the transition between the
old building and the new smooth

LANDSCAPE
PIAZZA
Beirut is lacking green ar-
eas and cultural hubs so I
decided to target this as-
pect of the city. And after
the explosion of the 4th of
August and since Furn Al-
Hayek and Ashraeh were
severely aected, I found
this as a golden opportu-
nity to improve the area.
V
The garden is an area for
interaction between peo-
ple and an ideal learn-
ing area. The garden is
divided into 4 zones.
The rst zone is the seavvting area with benches to sit
on in the shade of the trees and a bookcase in the center
for people to borrow from, or even donate books to. This
helps create a bond between the people and the park.
The second part is the tiered seating on the green
steps. This part is an ideal relaxation zone. The gar-
den is surrounded by oice buildings and com-
panies, so it creates an escape for employees
from the stress of their work during their breaks.
The third zone is the playground for kids. I
found this part necessary since such areas are
lacking or not existing in that part of Beirut.
The last zone houses the restrooms and a coee shop
for when people need to have a drink or a light snack.
